Steve’s Original Paleokit

I haven’t posted in a while; been busy with my son’s sports schedule, work and life in general, but I ran across this today and wanted to share it! For those of you who are also trying to live the Paleo way, you may have noticed that it requires  a bit of prepping to have snacks on the go, and for those of you who work outside of the home, it’s even harder to make sure you have a healthy, paleo-friendly snack to turn to. So while reading the Paleo Summit site today to catch up on what I’ve missed so far, I saw a mention for Steve’s Original Paleokit, a paleo-friendly, gluten-free snack kit. Yay! And better yet, the proceeds from purchases made on their site  go to helping kids in his local community of New Jersey, where many children are roaming the streets rather than the classrooms.

In Steve’s words: Steve’s Original is the funding source for my true calling: Steve’s Club. I’m trying to change the lives of local inner-city kids with fitness training and peer mentoring. My not-for-profit club is for kids from Camden, NJ—touted as the most dangerous crime-infested city in the country. Many of these kids were drugging and ganging before they were hanging out with me. They just needed an alternative.

Here’s a little more from Steve’s site about his products – I’m all for healthy and delish on-the-go treats to help keep me on the Paleo track 🙂

ORIGINAL PALEOKIT

A delicious mix of free-range jerky, raw macadamias, almonds, pecans and dried fruits, PaleoKits are gluten-free and perfect for people on the go. Vacuum packed for maximum freshness, PaleoKits have a six-month shelf life and are great on-the-go fuel for life’s journey. PaleoKits are available in a small size for snacking and large size for meal replacement. Following Zone®? A small contains two blocks of protein, carbs and fat and a large contains 4 blocks of each. So I just ordered a few of their products which are super cheap, and I’ll post my feedback after we try them out. I picked up the Original Paleokit (Made with jerky, nuts, and berries, the Paleokit is perfect for a meal replacement or just a quick snack),  the Grass-Fed Paleostix (Grass-fed Paleo Stix are perfect for people on the go and are vacuum packed for maximum freshness) and Berky (Made just for kids, Berky (berries and beef jerky) is the perfect snack for young Paleo-eaters).

There are so many great resources online to help support the Paleo/Primal way of living that I need more time in the day to catch them all. Hopefully these tasty little treats will help me on that quest by giving me more time in the day 🙂

In good health,

Jen
